Hello friends! Today I have a special treat for you!! Not only did I get to interview Kelle from
This awesome lady also offered us a giveaway for some of her yummy chevrons!!!
First, enjoy this interview:
1.when did you start designing fabric?
I started working with Robert Kaufman in 2009.2.what is YOUR favorite print from your lines right now and why?I love my Girl Friends collection. They're based on friendship and inspired by my closest friends. Each girl has their own little personality. I also like my triangles in my Remix line.
3.what do you think when you see your prints being used all over the net? I'm honored that people enjoy sewing with my prints. I love seeing what people make with my fabric.
4.are you an "old fashioned" fabric designer with hand drawings or do you use high tech devices? I draw with my mouse.
5.from where do you get your inspiration? I draw upon my childhood for my inspiration and pay homage to the small things that we've always known and loved, such as an ice cream cone, polka dots, and spring flowers.
6.what will be seeing from you in the future (fabric prints), any sneak peeks? Yes, I have lots of new fabric prints coming out in 2013. I just shared three new lines that are coming out. Woodland Pals, Girl Friends (ballerina girls), and my new chunky chevrons in my Remix collection. We're also going to add new prints to my Christmas collection, Jingle. Plus, new flannel, new additions to my Urban Zoologie line and a couple of other fun collections.
7.what are you hobbies besides designing? It was painting, but when I entered the design world, I knew I needed another hobby. I started running and loved it. Although, these days Pilates is a close second.
8.how did the business name ANN KELLE come about? Is this your full name?:) My name is Kelle Boyd. "Ann" comes from my middle name. When I first started painting, it was NEVER EVER my intention for people to see my artwork. Only a handful of people even knew I painted. When I started to feel a nudge to share my work with others, one of the things that made it easier, was to use a different name.
Thank you, Kelle! It was an honor to interview you!
